I'm a bit worried, because this quarter i haven't received anything. Not BPX 47, but also not the 15 prints from PCX.
Nothing. Very fishy.
I'll go to the post office on Monday to see if i can find out anything.

At least i hope my prints make it to their destination, because they took a bunch of my money for stamps...

Will keep you updated.

@Dunga -- you were on my list for the postcard exchange and I definitely sent it to you. That was long before the Canada Post strike, so it should have made it to you. But I haven't heard about the majority of the cards I sent, for some reason.

Mine are out today, at last! Should however arrive fairly quick

And they did. Not stuck in a warehouse but delivered by FedEx on Friday. I received three nice prints from negativefunk with a letter in which some background information was provided. I always find it interesting to learn a bit more about the images. Two Irish landscapes and a upshot of house block patio. Two of the tree are minimalist. specially the "Square on square". This almost screams for a Jerry Uelsmann style burn-in of an airplane or bird silhouette. 😄 Thanks very much Andrea.

Nothing yet... I'm trying not to get pessimistic about the postal service black hole.

On the other hand, it would be too expensive to send everything with a tracking code...
All my exchanges already cost me about 60-70 USD with regular post.

That is very expensive. In Spain is around 25 USD sending a 30x24 cm print to US/Canada with tracking using the Postal Service. With a courier (UPS, DHL) is around 40 USD.

Without tracking any problem is very difficult to solve.

You mean the postcard exchange and this exchange added together? It's still a lot.

Yup, both.
Every quarter they keep increasing the price of stamps here.

I wasn't aware of it before i started the PCX and BPX.

C'est la vie!

They're due to raise the price of stamps here, also. It never occurs to them to lower the price....

In the US it seems the best low-risk investment is postage stamps. Here they sell 'Forever' stamps with have no monetary value printed on them, just the class of service - such as 'First Class Letter.'

Same in Canada - at least for the common mailing standards like standard letters plus a few more.
Unfortunately we don't have a preferential postcard rate.

Time to stock up on the Forever stamps  .....

While I was away between Xmas and New Year, a nice print arrived from @MToma.

The appearance is an abandoned building invaded by vegetation, with light coming from a small window in an elevated location. Indeed I tend to share the feeling/intent of @MToma: a metaphor of "light at the end of the tunnel". Let's hope this applies to the new year 2025.

As informed by @MToma this is printed on 40-year old Rumanian paper, also selenium toned. The surface is made of small dimples, reminiscent of Brovira 119. The image quality is quite good, quite apart from the fact that the paper is 40 years(!) old.

Today was an excellent day for my Photrio activities. In addition to two really nice postcards, I received halfaman's beautiful print. It is untitled, but it shows three ladies engaged in high finance, some commercial activity in the bazaar in Marrakech. The ladies are colorfully dressed, their heads appropriately covered. They are sharp, and the background is soft due to the depth of field. The ladies' attention is on some merchandise. This is really nice, thanks Juan Carlos!

Thanks, Mark. So glad you like it 😊

Received today from @Dunga a very nice square print:

(that is a cell-phone photo)

Looks very cold (similar to here) and foggy (not similar to here - it's -15). I like the mysterious building back there. Has a rather dream-like feel.

You did an excellent job protecting the photo. I'm glad you put a return address because you forgot to include any information inside the envelope. But thank-you for the print!

Glad the print made it

In my quest to pack it as safely as possible for my first PBX, i forgot my usual write-ups that i always add to my PCX cards.
Will send a private message with it.

I just put my prints in the mail.

And received! Two photos. One is a beautiful and tastefully executed nude, printed on Ilford FB Classic. The pose, lighting and printing are all very well done. The other is a photo from Paris with an interesting perspective of the Eiffel tower printed on Ilford Multigrade IV. I like them both! Thank you!
