My condolences! As a Leica user and observer of other Leica users, you are in danger of an expensive, uncontrollable addiction. Yet, that M3 really feels comfortable in your hands doesn’t it?

I haven't logged back on to check this post, as I've been too busy using the damned thing! I've got quite a few rolls through it so far.

I'm definitely satisfied, and honestly didn't pay that much for it compared to some ive seen. I think for the lens, body, and ltm to m mount adaptor, I came in just around 890k won, pretty much 795 usd on the nose.

The viewfinder is Amazing, and though the Rf lacked a bit of contrast, it was easy to rig a piece of film leader over the viewfinder to make the Rf pop a little more. As for the serenar, mine is super soft, hazy as a MFer, and glows like crazy. I love it <3
I'll share some sample photos in another post shortly!

The haze look of the Serenar could be caused by Haze on the surface behind the aperture. Hold it up to the light, take a look.

A clean 50/1.8 Serenar will match a collapsible Summicron for performance. This is a 10 minute DIY job if you have a lens spanner.

Please tell us what happened. It is worth repairing. The camera is probably 60 years old and needed a CLA anyway.

Shutter jammed up pretty bad, with some minor coaxing of the advance, I got it to release. Shutter is now stuck partially open, refuses to advance. Pretty sure it's an issue with the light trap felt stuck in the barrel. Luckily I'm acquainted with the manager at the Leica store in chungmuro, Seoul. I'll bring it in on Saturday.
