i bought an FM2 and need a diopter. I went to Walmart and found that if I put a 1.0 magnyfing glasses on then I can see much better to focus.

Based on that, which diopter do I need to get!

I normally wear 1.5 power reading glasses, and use a Nikon diopter marked "+0.5" for my Nikon bodies. I would think a diopter marked "0" should get you pretty close to happy. They're a huge improvement for me for focusing and reading the meter display.

Most Nikon SLR's have a default diopter value of -1, so a "0" diopter would give you the equivalent of the +1.0 glasses you tried.
