Bookstore (antiquariat) in Berlin

I'll visit Berlin in August and have some time off before taking the TXL-bus to Tegel. I usually visit Fotoimpex and buy some film but this time I also would like to visit a good bookstore/antiquariat, with a good selection of photobooks. Please, anyone that has any recommendations?

Try LangerBlomqvist Kantstraße 117A. They have a great deal of books about art in general, usually at a rebate. I bought a great deal of books about Impressionism from them, they have books about photography too. They have another store in the Reinhardtstraße, but I´ve never been there. A second recommendation is Dussmann in the Friedrichstraße, definitely worth a visit.

Oh no, they don´t. They´re mostly selling new books.

MY recommendation would be to visit 25 Books in Brunnenstraße:

It is located near to Bernauer Straße underground station (which is also the station for visiting the Berlin Wall memorial).

No, it is not an antiquariat - it is simply the greatest little photo bookshop in Berlin!

What you will find there are hundreds of books that you will never have heard of by generally unknown photographers. Hannes, the owner, specializes in short-run books made by photographers, his own publishing house and other publishing houses in Germany who also specialize in producing short-run artists books by photographers.

Naturally, he also has books by better known photographers - such as the recent reprint of Candlestick Park by Lewis Baltz or David Bailey's Havana.

If you visit, make sure you plan to have lots of time to browse (and some spare Euros) as you are bound to find a gem or something that genuinely surprises you.

Just another point, Hannes is very often in the bookshop outside of his official opening times - so it is worth giving him a call if his opening times do not suit your schedule. Also, it is worth signing up for his newsletter as he highlights new books and his Friday night exhibition previews are great fun:

And then, if you are at Kantstraße, you may walk down the Schlüterstraße, for a nice antique bookshop. It is near the fantastic Chinese restaurant "Good Friends" - just in case searching for books makes you hungry

+1 for Bücherbogen at Savignyplatz.

I had a great time in Berlin, as always. I visited Langer Blomqvist (just like my last name!), Bücherbogen and Museum of Photography this time. I'll have to get back to that area next time and cover all the galleries mentioned above. 25books is also on the list. I've their newsletter and they seem to truly have a great selection.
I was located Kreuzberg so I brought an old contact sheet from 1989 to locate some old shots I did when I first visited Berlin in 89/90, I was staying at an apartment on Wrangelstraße that time.
Things have changed, to say the least!
BTW, I noticed that you have an exhibition up'n going, David. Would love to see it, but unfortunately no trips are planned to Berlin this autumn...
