Bonjour Philippe et bienvenue a APUG! Like you, I am fan of Nikons, although I use an FE.

Where in France are you based? I lived in Nancy for 2 years and regret that I didn't get to explore (and photograph) the country more when I was there. Looking forward to seeing some of your images!

Welcome to APUG

In May we were in Paris for well over a week, drove through the Loire Valley to Normandy and back to Paris via Chartes. It was my best visit to France.

Hello Philippe!

I'm french too, from Toulouse, and decided to join Apug because people looks so helpful there.
I like cameras and owned many of them years ago, from Leica couplex to Contax Aria, from a 4x5 M.P.P. folding to a Hasselblad 500C set...

Welcome from the western side of the pond! I live in Central Illinois, roughly halfway between Peoria (include it's suburbs and it's around 200,000 people) and the twin cities of Bloomington-Normal (which together are roughly 100,000). The town I live in is roughly 1,000 people so not nearly as big a place as where you live, but "big city" conveniences are roughly a 30 minute drive away.

I speak little to no French, but I know enough to know that the "S" on the end of "Illinois" is silent, unlike a large percentage of the population in the U.S.

"Merci Konical, is it a big city ? what camera you have ?"

Good Afternoon, Philippe,

The Illinois community I live in has a population of about 28,000. It is about 30 km northeast of St. Louis (a medium sized city), Missouri, just across the Mississippi River, which is the border between Illinois and Missouri. St. Louis is the largest city in the state of Missouri; it has a French heritage, with a number of French street names, and is named for Louis IX whose statute stands in front of the St. Louis Art Museum.

I don't know exactly how many cameras I have (probably around 35-40), but I use everything from 35mm to 4 × 5, with T-Max 100 being my favorite film.

Phillipe,
Yes I live in a rural part of Illinois. Contrary to what many here in the US think, there's more to Illinois than Chicago, our largest city. There are lots of small towns in this part of the state, and a few small cities like Peoria, Bloomington-Normal, Springfield, and Decatur. The town I live in is within a few km (roughly 2 miles) of an Interstate highway (think German Autobahn or UK Motorway - I don't know what they call them in France) that was built to have a quicker connection between Peoria and Springfield.

Bon Soir, Philippe,

Je ne sais pas le Konica t4. J'assume qu'il est 35mm?? J'emploi souvent le Koni-Omega (6 × 7).

Hello, Philippe -- welcome to APUG. I'm in Paris myself, at least for one more year. Great country, France!
