I needed another tripod like a hole in the head but at $7.50 in a thrift store I couldn't pass it up. It turns out it is a fairly decent tripod as light as it is(with 3028 head about 4 3/4 lbs). I expect to use it more with my older Rolleiflex as the the larger platform on the 3028 works well with it. I think I will like the head more than a ball head as two large levers control the front and side tilts...but care must be observed to hold the camera while making adjustments. Has no bubble levels though.

I have this tripod with the 3030 quick release head. Its been most satisfactory; at $7.50 you got a screamin' bargain!
Mine has the twist leg locks, I somehow lost one of the through bolts/nuts that hold the locks to the leg. Be advised that Manfrotto has few parts still available for this tripod. A good hardware store did the job for a replacement; I also put some Permatex Threadlocker Blue on the various nuts here and there. Threads with this stuff can be loosened, but with some effort

My tripod has thumb screws vs twist leg locks...more tedious but certainly secure.
Same as mine, as opposed to some of the other Manfrottos which use a tab which is pushed down to lock the leg. I have an ancient Star-D tripod, perhaps 55 years old; the legs lock by twisting them. Very sleek, until the locks won't unlock! as is the case with mine.
