Blue 47 filter for freckles?

I would like to do B/W white shoot using HP5 or Tri-X400 with a model that has freckles. I chose those films for the higher ISO since the filter will probably cut 1 or 2 stops of light.

Would blue 47 be the correct color to go with? I understand that it will make reds darker and blues lighter. What if the person has reddish skin along with freckles? Would that make the skin and the freckles dark negating the freckles standing out?

Sorry for the many questions. I'm trying to plan for a photoshoot and want to make sure everything goes smoothly.

I'd suggest finding a freckled friend and shooting a test roll ahead of time.
A blue filter would be a good choice to experiment with. Green might work as well.

I think blue would be a freckle enhancer. Orange or red would be a freckle reducer. Do you want to hide freckles or make them stand out?

Unless you want your model to loo like they have the pox forget the blue filter. A light green filter would be a much better shoice. Even then one would have to be careful. The idea to test is a good one. Remember that films do no see the visual spectrum in the same way so you also need to test the film. More red sensitivity less freckles, less red sensitivity more pronounced freckles. .

I agree; looking through a filter says a lot about its effect on various tones.
If no one with freckles is immediately available to you, I'm sure there are plenty of images of freckled faces on the internet you could use as substitute.
