Dear photographers,

I just sent a latter to a place quite far away. I hope it reaches it's destination fast and safely.

If I got a message from the addressee i show the images here.

Hi, I'm going to have to report a delay in fulfilling my assignment. Cycling home last night from work I hit a greasy patch on a roundabout, went flying and have fractured my elbow. Hopefully up and running again in 3-4 weeks so will get straight on with my print then.

I just put my print in the mail to a sunny destination. It should arrive there by the end of the week. I'll post the image in the gallery later and a link to it in this thread.

....and from the sunny locale mentioned by menno - i rec'd a fine print from his summer trip to the city of zagreb!

a formal doorway... it's actually more than a doorway in that it is indeed solid and old as you would imagine - ornate decorations and accouterments - intriguing. adding mystery is a chain and padlock around the iron doors warranting further thought! (you can see a less romantic version of the doorway on google maps https://www.google.com/maps/place/M...8ed04f3848006fa!8m2!3d45.8142814!4d15.9707562 )

mine is excellently printed on adox variotone (and is without the garbage can, shown in google). the light is just dipping below the buildings across the street adding a wide ranges of tones in the print. the contrast was excellent tamed in the darkroom rendering a nice composition, well done.

thank you menno!

Thanks for your nice comments jvo. I've uploaded the "more romantic version" (there was a url link here which no longer exists)to the standard gallery so others can see it as well.

I also received a print in the mail yesterday. All the way from Bogota, Colombia from Peter Rockstroh01. A very nice 8x10 contact print of "(there was a url link here which no longer exists)" on Ilford Galerie paper. It looks stunning; super smooth tones, deep blacks and obviously zero grain. Thanks Peter!

Knowing where it was taken, this photo brings back memories of the cycling trip my wife and I did in 2000 through Guatemala & Belize. I went through your APUG gallery and saw some familiar places in Guatemala; Antigua, Lake Atitlan, Semuc Champey, Tikal. Great photos!

doesn't do the print justice! (when my scanner died years ago i never replaced it, so am unable to scan... seeing the difference between the scanned image and the print, seems my omission is justified!!!)

thank you again, menno, for a fine print.

I didn´t know you had been in Guatemala ! It is a beautifull country. I am glad your print arrived in good shape. I´ve had some problems in the past with some courier companies.
Last year they asked me to send a suggestion because they damaged some buckets so badly during trassport, that I just wrote: ¨Please land the plane before delivery.¨
