Received a very nice print (and postcard) from Ralph Weimer last Friday. Classic tonality, it gives me a real sense of "being there." Thanks!

Hi there,
I've been out of apug and out of photos for quite a long time, well that's the way life goes.
I'd been very interested in having a close look to someone else prints, but don't like the atmosphere of photoclubs where people spend a lot of time talking of camera and lenses. I think the "gear lust" period is over for me, what really counts is the image itself.

I know I still have a lot to learn, yet I'd be interested in joining a print exchange group. Have I come to the right place? Do you accept beginners?

Ciao,

Marcello

Hi Marcello,

Yes you have come to the right place. The print exchanges are great. You may also be interested in the group exchange where you will get feedback from the other participants.

Good to know,

now I need some basic infos on rules and procedures, I.e. how to sbuscribe, preferred print format and so on.

To whom should I write?

hmmm. I am not happy with my print, I 'll make today another one. My coorespondant will get both, though. Sorry for the delay

I returned from holiday to find an engaging wallscape contact printed from a 17x7 negative from Argus. Thanks so much! One of the great things is to see the diversity of work that is happening out there.

I've printed but it'll be till next weekend that I get a chance to post it. Sorry for the delay but I have the in-laws this Easter weekend-- ugh!

Today I received a very nice print from Dianna Mullet, all the way from Texas.

Well, my secret santa sent me his print waaaay back in mid-February. Even produced the waybill/tracking number and sure enough DHL said it was delivered. Not to me though, I swear!

Called them and to no avail. They said they delivered it.

I'm sure it was a great print and regardless, thanks so much to Shadow Images who sent it to me.

Regards, Art.

I got home from the Easter break yesterdasy to find a beautiful print from Matt King waiting for me.
It's a piece of driftwood surrounded by undergrowth. The wood grain leads the eye nicely into the shot and the shallow dof keeps attention in the interesting wood textures. A light touch on the sepia toning warms the print and sets it off well. Thanks Matt!

Yes it has

been 11 days...I sure hope it arrived...

Arrived yesterday. An interesting industrial landscape with the added feature of "Holgaism" (sp?). I like the overall effect.

JGB

ps: I haven't heard if mine has arrived, it's been over 2 weeks since I mailed it. Is it considered polite to ask the recipient for confirmation/feedback?

Thanks Pete - glad you like it.

Did my packaging protect the print sufficiently?

Matt

Finally my print is in the mail. May take a week or longer or so.

So my print went out today.

Also, 7 people haven't confirmed that they sent their print to their recipients. Let's get printing, mailing and posting people! Just a friendly reminder.

Sent PM to Bart to join the group. I wait for the next round.
Thanks Marcello,

I'll set up another round in the summer time. Hang in there!

Regards, Art.
