It came to my attention that some people on the list did not receive their assignment address from me. If you did not receive one from me, please reply to this thread, and I will re-send your assignment.

well, well, well... i noticed markbarendt was heading to the p.o. on veterans day, (closed), - low and behold i head out yesterday, and what do i find 2 very wonderful prints, from same - talk about synchronicity!

i rec'd "478" - my favorite superior exposure, compostion, printing picture of the engine shed and locomotive 478; then "eureka" - nice study of engineer and fireman at work!

thank you mark - i will enjoy!

Hi Eugene,

As of this afternoon my print is in the mail and on its way to parts unknown. Well, at least unknown to me.

You can now mark me as SENT, but as yet NOT RECEIVED.

Thanks,

Received today an excellent print from Ken Nadvornick. It's a shot of a child on a carousel, shot with open flash, a 1/4 second exposure getting blurred lights streaking into the field and then the perfectly exposed motion frozen girl on the carousel with her mother standing behind her peaking out. Very well done.

Also extremely well packed, mounted, in a box, padded incredibly well etc. which lead my wife, who once worked in an art gallery, to ask if Ken ever worked in a gallery!

Thanks Ken!

I have Monday off after the holiday as well and hope to get mine done and sent out by next week.

You're very welcome, Roger. Glad you guys enjoyed it.

No, never worked in a gallery setting. Nor as an artist. (No talent, sadly...) But I did once work professionally a few years (decades) back as a darkroom printer. Way, way back. Classic black-and-white, plus quite a bit of Cibachrome. And we did have occassion once in a while to package and ship finished prints, both mounted and unmounted. And I really, really didn't want to have to be remaking them all of the time.

(And to be perfectly honest, I'm anal to a fault. But it sounds like the two of you have already figured that out...)

Now that Roger has seen it first, for anyone else interested (there was a url link here which no longer exists) to see the submission. If I could suggest one thing to improve these one-on-one blind exchanges, it would be to encourage everyone who can to post their submissions in the General Print Exchange Gallery. It might be fun for more than one person to see your final results.

Thank you Roger for the update!

That's a great idea Ken! I will add it to the directions to the exchange. Which area would be the best?

Sean set up the (there was a url link here which no longer exists) as a sort of default display area for all of the various print and slide exchanges.

In the spirit of "BLIND Print Exchange" (and it being close to Christmas and not wanting to spoil the surprise), to whomever drew my name: I have not yet received a print.

If you're busy, chill, I'll get it when I get it. If you have sent something to me check the address with the headmaster and then me. The PO delivers to addresses, not people, and you might have missed the 'South' in there.

Things all work out with time. Often for the better.

I didn't get to print this past weekend - hopefully this coming weekend which means I won't quite make November but hopefully not TOO late.

That's not a problem at all. As long as you remember about it. Just a reminder: the longer you procrastinate, the better the print must be  .
