It did arrive safely and undamaged on Thursday. I received a nice color (!) print from Howard. A foggy landscape with a creek and a tree bending over backwards. A nice composition with the curves of the creek and the tree. A mask overlay provided the look of a textured paper. Thanks Howard!

Thanks for letting me know. I'm glad you like it.

View attachment 245061

That is the university pond in Augsburg, Germany - Lith print on Cachet Lith RF

And it reached it's destination in perfect condition as it should be for such a fine piece of art.

Vielen Dank Bernd! Ich freue mich sehr damit

And also for the very nice letter that accompanied the photograph.

Bill

PS: note to self to send of my print this week as it is ready and I now have some good packaging materials

Dear photographers, most of us have some kind of additional problems these days. This even reaches our beautiful avocation.

I stretch this round for a month: New timeline

Print and Send: March, April an May 2020
Rest and Relaxation: June 2020

I hope this is enough for all of us.

stay healthy, Uwe.

In my case the earliest date I will be able to go back to the lab is 30th of May, if everything goes well and there is no deteroration with the damn COVID-19 situation in my county.

You can discard me if this is too late, I will wait for the next round.

Dear Juan Carlos and all others,

if you sent out your prints in the course of June, all is fine. It is called relaxation month, but it is very common to send out the contrubution in this period.

If some of you have even problems with June, I make this round even longer. I don't want to discard anyone who is willing to send out prints. The situation is very different in other parts of the world, and I want respect this.

Put my print in the mail yesterday.
And now received, with thanks Gijsbert.

A lovely print with a full print filled with what looks like a large wooden head sculpture, but with the top part of the head missing and some major splits in the wood that help give the head more character.

I've been told that it was taken on a holiday in Florence, Italy, in a garden that I haven't heard of but wish that I had known about when I visited for one day in the past. For yes, the streets of Florence get VERY busy during the day, which along with the usual hot temperatures, push one to look for somewhere to relax a while.

Taken on one the Fuji 645 cameras, of which I have a variant as well, and is also one of my favourite cameras to use.

A final thing that I like about the print, is the overall tone, having been printed on Oriental Warmtone paper and then toned in Selenium toner, which has given it a rich brownish(?) look, that I very much like. Seeing this, I must try some warmtone paper in Selenium toner, both of which I have, but none of my prints have, so far, produced anything other than a slight extra bit of dmax.

Many thanks once more Gijsbert, for another lovely picture to add to my collection.

Hi Terry, glad you like it, thanks for the kind words. The Boboli gardens are a joy to visit, lots of other sculptures from Tony Cragg as well. Coincidently, it's exactly 1 year ago today I was there, oh to travel... Since you mention wood, I thought it was clay but when I looked it up the web says bronze: https://www.uffizi.it/en/artworks/tindaro-screpolato
I like the Oriental Warmtone, especially in selenium. I was hoping it would give lith effect but I couldn't make it happen. I'm a bit surprised you don't get much color with warmtone+selenium this took 3-4 minutes I think (one day I'll take notes!). Ilford Warmtone tones to aubergine pretty fast as well - a few minutes with 1:9. Well, I keep on using the same the working strength and throw in a bit from the factory strength when no tone develops after 5 minutes - so who knows what the dilution really is.

Ciao, Gijsbert

Gijsbert, thanks for the reply and the link to the sculpture and the gardens in Flroece, of which I now wished more than ever that I saw them whilst in the area that day. Maybe again the future on a trip to Italy?

But looking at the sculpture in colour now, to me it now resembles pottery rather wood, as in your picture to me. On screen at least, I would never guess that it is a bronze.

And finally the Selenium toner, where I think I might have confused the issue. I have both warmtone paper (from the 80's, so it will be interesting to use again) and some Selenium toner, but have never used the two together. It has only been 'ordinary' RC and FB b/w paper that I have used in the toner, to not much effect.

Print sent yesterday at last!

I am happy to report I received a beautiful color print in immaculate quality from Juan Carlos (halfaman). With the ongoing COVID19 pandemic, I know a lot of mail service has been interrupted. Thank you for going out of your way to send it via UPS.

It is a view of the town of Zuheros in the province of Cordoba, taken on a Pentax 67II and printed on Fuji Color Crystal Archive Print. The sight of it brought back memories of my first visit to Spain. I hope, after all this is over, I will be able to revisit again.

About a week ago I received an envelope from
@BSP, containing a print and a letter.
The grain of the Foma Retro film you used looks very interesting. I've heard some controversial opinions about it, but definitely it works fine in medium format.
The print itself is also very nice, showing some fine tones.
Thank you, Bill!

My prints are ready, kept them for a bit between cardboard sheets to flatten. Though some retouching is due to be applied to one of them.
If everything is fine I'll be posting them by the end of the week.

Hello,

I finally shipped my print, after it reached an acceptable flatness!

I added some postcards to get -I hope- forgiven for being so late
