Hello,

I also work in the film and video industry, and the use of filters like the black pro-mists is pretty common. But do you have exemple of that in photography ? For instant, I really love to use Provia, but sometimes it's like i would like to diminish a bit the sharpness to create something a bit more painterly. And to soften the edges. But unfortunately these filters are a bit expensive in large size so the tests would be too ahah... And now there's nowhere where i can rent a 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 pro-mists and black pro-mists or other filters like that.

Do you have exemples of photographs who have been using them, or maybe with your own experience ?

Thanks

I am not familiar with the pro-mist. There are softening filters made for still cameras, there are several types, some of the brands are B&W, Tiffen, Cokin, Zeiss, it could be that these might produce the effect you want.

My favorite source of examples is the catalogues: B+W and Tiffen in particular.
