Black and White reversal using C41 Bleach

I'm aware B&W reversal processing is a perennial subject here but there is something I've not seen and was wondering about.

I'm in the UK so can't buy sulphuric acid without a gov license and I don't want to use potassium dichromate in my bathroom, I'm also not sure if it is available to buy here. So the "traditional" reversal bleach is not an option.

I have tried doing reversal of resin coated paper with hydrogen peroxide but bleaching was very slow and the results disappointing.

Would it be possible to use the bleach stage from the C41 process? Not the Bleach-Fix obviously but just the bleach from something like a Bellini monopart kit. From my understanding of the process it does the same job to remove the developed silver. My understanding may be flawed of course!

If I had a kit to hand I'd just give it a try but I'd have to buy one to try it out which would be an expensive experiment if it failed. I wonder if someone else has done it.

C41 bleach doesn't remove developed silver, it just makes it silver bromide, which is removed later by the fixer. You may try sourcing sodium bisulfate qnd potassium permanganate to make a permanganate bleach instead.

Indeed. C41 bleach is a rehalogenating bleach, and therefore useless for B&W reversal processes.

It looks like I can source sodium bisulfate and potassium permanganate so maybe I'll give that a try.
