Does anyone have an email address for Fuji?

-Laura

What's the email address?

Edit: I sent a message to Japan via this: Dead Link Removed

Oh, look: I have 111 posts. In numerology, 111 supposedly signifies a new beginning. So maybe Fuji will reconsider after all!

Me too. Let's all (at least all concerned) email Fujifilm and let them know how much we would miss this wonderful film.

-Laura

I wish you all the best, but can't see how emailing Fuji can let them know how much you (in the broadest sense) will miss this wonderful film. After all, sales probably tell a different story.

Hmm... I'm going to give the Pro 800Z a try to see what all the fuss is about on my next paycheck

Just send the damn e-mail. It amazes me that people will find all reasons in the world to not do something that takes just a little bit of time, costs you minimally, and has the potential to make a small difference, regardless of what business realities might indicate. It wouldn't be the first time that people contacting a manufacturer made a difference. If anything it's no loss from where we are right now.

How does it harm you for someone to express a different opinion than yours? The response looks like it was stated in a friendly non aggressive way, just a different opinion as to the effectiveness of emails vs. dollars spent.

It's one thing about the forums I like, diversity of opinion.

So irony and humor are beyond your capability to understand?

Good to know, I will keep that in mind in the future.

Whether emailing them will do any good or no, I just ordered a pile of 800Z and will likely order more next week. Money talks.

That's what it will take, people buying product in sufficient quantities to put the profit margin where the company believes it is getting a fair return on investment.

With the greatest respect, and not meaning to be argumentative, I don't think we have any idea why Fuji decided to discontinue this film. Companies do discontinue profitable products. But companies generally like to keep their customers happy, which is why I favor the email approach.

If anyone cares enough about this film to read this thread, why not send an email?

I sent an email and got a reply that stated that Fuji Japan was considering keeping 800Z alive but that the best thing people could do was to buy it.

Don't despair Mike, I'll order (20) 220 this week. Last week I ordered (20) 135 with my final ten rolls of Kodachrome. Not sure how long I can keep that up though.

Remember that the decision to drop it has come from a lot of people arguing in boardrooms at Fuji - even a few dozen emails appealing for it's continuation would be good ammunition for people fighting for it's cause.

The other effect is the reaction when the ceasing is announced, and how the sales rise as it's stockpiled. At one point when TMax was quite new Kodak announced Tri-X 5x4" was going - the resultant reaction had an immediate effect and it's been safe ever since.

I really don't know the details about it, but Fuji wouldn't discontinue it easily. I mean, even if there's tiny profit, I think they'd continue making it. It wouldn't be about the money made, but just to offer a complete collection of films to the client. I don't think any film manufacturer would discontinue a product that is making at least some profit. Maybe they don't have any profit at all from Pro 800Z.
