Excellent spread of images all taken over a short span of time at a rollerrink in Florida in the early 70's. The story of how the images were taken and where they've been is interesting, too. The photographer, Bill Yates, went on to a successful career, but not as a street photographer - but as an aerial photographer.

That style wasn't complete until the bottoms of the pants were permanently a different colour from the rest due to always wicking muddy water up to the calf.
Bell bottoms had a slightly different style. The trousers were pretty normal until about halfway down the shinbone, then they abruptly flared out to cover the entire shoe. These looked a lot closer to a bell shape than flared trousers. I know this as I wore both styles.
Kids smoking reminds me of the smoke pit at my high school. There was also a roller rink nearby. Loads of fun! I disliked flared pants and bell bottoms though, and refused to put them on New Wave came along, ushering in the straight leg, thankfully!
