I never met Bill, but I've watched many of his YT videos and his warmth and generosity was very apparent even in an online platform. I wish his family and friends the warmest of condolences. RIP, Bill.

I met Bill here on this forum, like many of you and we forged a friendship that lasted quite a long time, Laura and I will miss Bill, he frequently visited our shop over the years, and we did attend a couple of his workshops in the early years of Photostock. I can say that Bill IMO had the skills to be respected as one of the best printmakers in the world , I will miss his laugh.

This is a very sad news.
Met him in Toronto having a show together at Bob Carnie’s place long time ago. What he did with Photostock and his workshops was remarquable.
RIP

I had the great good fortune of meeting Bill on a couple of occasions. He was a genuinely good guy. He will be greatly missed.

Not sure how I missed it, but I am only just finding this out. I never met Bill, but I considered it a real honor when he friended me on Facebook many years back. I have always wanted to take one of his trips or go to Photostock, but that never happened for me. I saw his last post on Facebook mentioning that he was heading to Scotland to lead a trip to the Hebrides, it sounded like such a wonderful trip. Hard to imagine that he didn't make it back. RIP Bill, thanks for being such an inspiration to me and to countless others.

Wow. I'm just a hobbyist but I watched many of his videos over the past couple of years. RIP. I hope youtube is not monetizing off his channel without providing something to his family. I also hope they don't take the videos off.

I'm just checking back in after a long time away with family illnesses. The news of Bill's passing has hit me hard. I was hoping to start getting back to Photostock on a regular basis and was wondering why it was cancelled this year and hoping for the best. I have two small wet plate portraits that Bill asked me to sit for when we first met many years ago. I'll treasure them even more now. And I'll miss Bill greatly.

Just a quick and dirty scan of a print. Bill Schwab attending a get together of APUG photographers south of Cleveland, OH in the early 2000's. He's glancing out of his recently completed wet plate darkroom trailer.

RIP Bill.

I just heard of Bill's passing. He was a fine friend, and an inspirational photographer. A very, very good man. Peace.
