Finally got around to finishing some book cases this weeek and was unloading boxes of books that had been stored for a while. Came across a flat mailer, looked inside and there was this perfect little gem of a book - Bill Schwab Photographs.

Still in the original bag, with a note from Bill, Oct. 1999. I recall finding Bill's web site and the excitement that he was going to publish a book of his work - as I thumber through the little book, there are less than 40 pages, I was reminded why I wanted to purchase the book, the reproduction is excellent.

Don't know if Bill has any more of these or not, limited to 1000 copies. If he does grab one up, you will not be disappointed.

Bill - if you see this, Thanks for making my day - Again!!

A blast from the past. Glad that you like it and happy it still stands up. They did do a fine job with the reproduction. Unfortunately... (or fortunately depending upon your perspective  ) that one is long gone. I did keep a couple back for the personal stash... who knows?

Thanks for digging it out Mike!

Best, Bill

I bought one at a bookstore a while back. At the time I didn't know who Bill was. I never showed it to my wife. Not on purpose. Just never got around to it. Afew years later she went to the Halsted Gallery and bought me a copy of "The Rouge" for Christmas. While she was there Tom Halsted talked her into buying Bill's little book. I was quite surprised when I opened both of the gifts. A little later I went into the office and brought out the book I had purchased previously. She asked me when I got it and I told her. Then I told her that hers was better. It was autographed by Bill.

I am lucky enough to call Bill a friend.

I am also lucky enough to not only have gone to Iceland with him,
but he did a portrait of me while there.

See it here.

He is truly a great guy and amazing photographer.

I just bought the book from Amazon!

Thanks for the heads up! I love Bill's work and now I have a book! Do you think if I send it to you Bill, you could sign it for me? It would mean alot.
Thanks again.

Well, I don't have any of his books and I haven't been to Iceland with him (I have to keep saving for that one) but I do have one of his prints hanging in my house. It's one of my favorite prints from anyone.

Thanks to Dinesh, though, I now know not to let him near my cat!

Man... You don't visit for a day and next thing you know people are accusing you of sex with cats! What next? I told you it can get ugly when I sleepwalk Dinesh, but no... You had me sleeping by the kitty litter. No way am I to blame.

In all seriousness, I very much appreciate all the kind words on that one. And I appreciate even more the fact you all bought one. (or 2 Jerry!)

Grateful..

Ok Bill, at least I know where you are staying when you visit Toronto you Bastard, are my small dogs not even safe around you.
Thankfully Dinesh is here to let the cat out of the Bag about you.

To think we are planning a workshop in October around You, I think a trailer separated from the crowd will be where you will be staying, *with Dineshe's Cat.*

By the way folks. Joe Corinsh , Bill Schwab, Sandy King, Les McLean and a host of supporters are going to be up North in October doing a soup to nuts photo exhibit to be shown at Elevators Gallery.
At this moment we are already 1/3 booked which is remarkable since we have not done one ounce of marketing as yet.

Hopefully by that time Bill will get some counciling to kick his nasty habits. I will vouch for him , he is an amazing teacher and giving photographer and we here are very happy to have him as part of our Elevator Workshop team.
I only wish Dinesh would have been more diplomatic in outing his friend.

Don't worry Bill, this wont affect your visa into Ireland. We have a lot of lonely sheep here. Might be seen positively you know :D:D
