Bill Hao - ULF (32x48) Wet Plate photographer

I came across Bill Hao's work in this suggested youtube video; he's shooting with a home made 32"x48" wet plate camera. He seems to be a flying under the radar as I haven't seen mention of him anywhere else. The small screenshots he posts are quite dynamic. It's impressive if nothing else, it takes a lot to make a 20x24 camera look small and portable!

There is a camera one does not see everyday.
Photographers engaged in that stuff are interesting to say the least

It is impressive that he seems to deal with that monster all by himself.

Looks like he's having fun. A remarkably simple setup. Wonder is he has to hold his breath during an exposure? The tiniest breeze would seem llike it would vibrate the rig. But he probably saved $30,000 and 75 lbs of carry weight building it that way by himself.
