I just found a Petzval design to play with on my FDK 18x24 camera. But, as you can see the lensboard i made for it is too small... The lens itself is quite heavy for the camera.
I am sure I am not the first one with this problem. I am thinking about adding some more sheets of plywood and maybe a hose clamp on the inside. Any suggestions would be welcome.
The lens says JFS. I have a couple of stops for it.

Hey Ole, if that is you, what ball head is that on the tripod? Does it really support the camera well?

As to the question, there is an answer; bigger camera.

Can you make an extended lens board one that is a box which tapers from smaller to larger with the smaller end having a flange so it will fit into the front standard like your regular lens boards? The smaller end is just a board that overhangs on all four sides.

There's a big UniLoc head in between there. It does the job - the main problem is flex in the camera base. It sits better on a Gandolfi tripod with the big top plate.

Yeah, I had something like this in mind. It is supposed to be about 35 cm, so 18x24 seems like a good portrait format for it.
Also, my doughter says we need to move to a bigger house if I buy any more cameras.

Hi !
You can, as I do, glue 2 or 3 sheets of plywood to make a thick board.
Then you can machine it using a router mounted upside down on a table. Be particulary precautionous and make/install protectors to prevent your fingers to reach the router's cutting tool.... Routers are quite dangerous tools.
