Big jump in Instax Wide prices.

At B&H Instax Wide prices just jumped from $73 to $95 for the 100 exposure sales unit. With tax now over $1 per shot. Quite a price shock but not surprised. It seemed artificially low compared to mini and square prices for a long time.

When I got my first 35mm camera, 100ft Tri-x cost 1 cent per frame.

Low volume item for Fujifilm. Once we all get Wide backs for our view cameras they will discontinue

Typical Fujifilm press release, first of the month, "We have no intention of discontinue this film, blah blah, blah."
One week later; Unfortunately unfavorable business conditions are causing a readjustment in our product lineup. The product we promised you would not be discontinued last week........is being discontinued.

Let's hope we are wrong.

Wow, I'm glad I got in before the reprice. I guess they noticed a lot of people buying and priced it almost as if buying single packs.

Here in Germany it is 190$ (inc. 19%VAT)

Which is 75% above HP5+.

In type 135 it is only 25% above HP5+.

No, no. don't be scared. It's the discounted Multi-Packs that are no longer super discounted. Buying individual packs have not gone up.

A quick trip to Amazon UK shows that I can buy a twin pack of Instax Wide for £16.99 vs my order history showing I bought it for £15.99 in 2017, effectively this is just inflation. The larger multipacks are always hit and miss, I found the 100x pack sometimes to be cheaper than 5x 20packs, other times to be a lot more (both for mini and wide).

My local Walmart stocks Instax Wide as well as Mini.
I just toss a pack or two in the cart with the Special Kitty and the Omeprazole.
