Mounting Framing Marketing
That looks like three books. Mounting not so big. Framing huge subject. Marketing Ultra Huge subject. Mounting Framing Marketing Photographs is in the book called find an agent, go to a class, volunteer at a frame shop.
Well Curt, seems that you have defined my challenge. Let's tackle marketing first. A wealth of publication exists on how to run a traditional photographic studio; commercial work, and stock photography for license republication. Wildlife photography too. A gap exists on how a semi-pro can prepare and engage in direct sales, work with galleries and public events, and market in the online world. That slice warrants a "Dummies Guide to...".
It could also speak to the variety of matting techniques; mounting, single-double, and title window matting. Framing, ay... but certain clean simple line, cut the frame stock and select AR glass methods do not really warrant a tome the thickness of "War and Peace."
This looks like it will be necessary to buy a small library of books, cull out the best parts, and then perhaps stitch the essential sections back into something that will be usable to the minions of the photo community. While a formidible project, it is not as big as it sounds. Spent too much time in the academic community producing syllabus materials and 300 page studies in a couple months.
Courses and frame shops are not an option for me. While I don't live at the end of the world, we can see it from here and it's a big part of what we promote to tourists... Here is another self-taught opportunity for success that I am very good at. I have done this a lot. Once, I took up neurosurgery as a means for curing the criminally insane. I was caught after working on my 428th patient. The judge however dismissed all the charges and sealed the records when the prosecution discovered that all of them were then serving in the US House of Representatives...
