I use the skyport but the biggest problem is the cable/pc cord from my older "C" lens and the skyport I have velcroed to the side of the 'blad body.

The sync connections on "C" lenses are notoriously temperamental. I even have a few "Hasselblad tip" PC cables I got from Paramount and those work with a pack setup but they are household end so you either need an adapter or a dedicated PC to 1/8th mini phone cable for a skyport universal trigger. Most of the the PC ends on the PC to miniphone cables aren't long enough to fully make a good connection on the "C" lense socket.

You usually end up with gaffers tape to get the PC to connect fully. A Pocket wizard will have the same issues so just make sure you get several PC to mini phone connectors in hopes one will work.

Good luck.

Any wireless triggers from any manufacturer will need to be connected to the sync socket on the lens because the 500c and c/m has no hot shoe that is HOT.

The later versions from Zeiss (CF etc) have a better sync connector but I'm shooting all "C" T* lenses so I'm stuck with the older style connector.

Reviving this because it has been a couple of years and there might be something new that has come out for leaf shutter users that want flash?

Hopefully if anyone would like to shed some light (sorry bad pun)

I just got a set of Pocket Wizard Plus II units to use with digital, 35mm, medium format and large format cameras/shutters. Looking forward to the convenience and flexibility. I have mix of:

Nikon
Canon
Mamiya RB67
Nikkor
Schneider
Speedotron
Sunpak

It is all compatible with the right cables. With PC connections, the Hasselblad/Zeiss lenses will work with Pocket Wizards. PocketWizard offers a Metz 6-pin to miniphone cable, so everything should work.

I have a 500c so I will look into it.

I have never used flash with any kind with it so I wanted to try wireless.

I had Quantum Radio Slaves from back when they were like six hundred bucks. But they're HUGE...

I got a cheap "Yongyou" Chinese set, transmitter and two receivers for like $25 - they fire reliably with my SLRs, DSLRs, 35mm RFs, 4x5 and my Sekonic meter. But I have 7 RB lenses and none would fire with it, nor would my older Spotmeter (Minolta F).

So I got a first or 2nd gen Pocketwizard set on eBay for like $65. Compact and works with everything, happy camper. Much better range than the cheapies, which will fail if they get behind a pack or a stand. if I need more receivers, I believe anything from the PW line will work with what I already have. Good professional system.

I'm just using an el-cheepo Chinese brand but it works flawlessly. I think you need to try a few until you find what works with your gear.Find a local dealer or camera club where you can try different solutions.
good luck
