what would be a good developer for neopan 1600 pushed to 3200? I tryed some in rodinal, and wasn't really happy with the results.

I used xtol 1+1 for neopan at 1600. Looks brilliant!

I'm going to try Neopan 1600 in UFG, I've always seemed to not get the maximum speed out of this film, and UFG seems to REally ramp it up!

xtol would be my vote although 3200 would be a bit of a challenge based on my limited experience with the film. 1600 is pretty good with xtol. You may need to go to a speed increasing developer like Acufine for higher speeds, but I have no experience with it.

I would rate it at 1600 and develop in XTOL, Ilford DD-X, Diafine or Tmax. 3200 pretty far for Neopan1600. It's true asa is around 640...
Expect very dense shadows.

Delta3200 clocks in around 1000-1200asa.
Tmax3200 between 800 and 1000asa.

Iso 640 is exactly what you reach with Neopan 1600 in Rodinal. All other general developers you will get around iso 800. For speed enhancing developers like DD-X, Microphen etc. iso 1000 and for the 2-bath Diafine you can make an E.I. of 1600 for very reasonable quality negatives. So the last one is one of the best combinations on high iso rate. Going far over iso 1600 is not impossible but you will indeed get very dense shadows.

Best regards,

Robert
