DESCRIPTION: Beseler Resistrol. As shown.

CONDITION: Very good condition with some age wear and soiling. I don't have an enlarger, so, I don't know how to test if it's properly working.

Not sure, but I think it regulates the voltage to the enlarger lamp. It was in a pile of stuff I got and I've not used it.

It's basically a fancy rheostat for the enlarger lamp, so if your exposure times are too short, you can cut the power going to the lamp and lengthen your exposure times.

That would lower the color temperature, wouldn't it? Would that perhaps cause a problem with variable contrast papers? And color printing .... forget about it!

When they were invented, the state of the art was condenser enlargers and graded paper. So color temperature was not an issue. You're right, you'd never hook a dichroic head up to one of these things for color or vc printing.
