Beseler dichro enlarger help

So I recently acquired a beseler 23dga and just got a bulb in. Problem is, I still get no light. The fan turns on, so I assume the stabilizer/power supply is functional, but I'm a little lost as to what the problem could be. I'm not running with a timer, but that shouldn't matter, should it? The wires all look good and I've tried 2 bulbs now, but no luck?

If you have a voltmeter, check the V at the bulb socket. It could be corrosion at the contacts. As long as you have the meter, check the lamp wiring for continuity and power supply for output V.

My Beseler 45 Dichroic has 2 cords. I for the fan and one for the light which is connected to the timer.

Well this one has a voltage stabilizer with a power switch and a light switch, which I assume controls the bulb. But, it also has another cord for "to timer" and a socket "from timer". Perhaps the timer is required for the light to function? I'll have to drag a timer out to the garage and test that way as the timer it came with is only a 2 prong socket so I can't test with it.

I only can speak from my experience with my Beseler 45S dichroic. With my color head, there's a "paper saver" circuit. It's a lever for white light for focusing. You push the lever forward for white light then pull it back to re-engage the filters. If you forget, the bulb won't turn on. You have to turn off the bulb and pull the lever back before the bulb turns back on. Does your head have such a circuit? Good luck!

If you want, you could just plug the to & from cords together it's the same as the timer being on.
