I tried searching for info but with no luck.

What is the difference between the Beseler color 45 heads, such as the early one with the hose coming out of it and the 45s. I now have both however, the 45s is the one I have been using for years. Have not had a chance to try out the earlier one with the hose.

Although I don't need both, thinking of keeping the extra one for a back up.

Thank you in advance for any info, thoughts, you can offer.

The earlier one, with the hose, needs an external blower and has a smaller range of color correction than the newer model. The older model also uses an external voltage stabilizer, although that is not absolutely necessary. You have also probably noticed the heavy transformer for the older model that hangs from the rod on the enlarger - it uses 24 volt lanps.
