Hi all
I am in need of help figuring out why I cant get my cb7 in alignment . and please excuse the strange way I have tried to explain this problem I can get it to align at any distance from the base board but if I change the height at which I aligned it it goes out of alignment. and I have to move my versa laser to a different position on the base board to get he beam to hit the glass to check the alignment and it is back out of alignment at the new height. on my MXT as you raise or lower the height the laser beam doesn't have to be moved at all to check alignment at different positions. what would cause this ??

I have not played with one of these in a lot of years, but it sounds like it may be in the track, truss, whatever you want to call it, the rails that the carriage runs up and down on. Try laying a straight edge on both of those and look to the rollers the whole thing rolls up and down the track on.

You can also check the support struts. I've found the best way is with a cheap plastic angle finder. If they're out of alignment it can really cause problems.
Angle finder: used in carpentry or when doing moldings and trim:
