Just finished getting my darkroom setup again and I have decided that I really don't need 2 enlargers so this one is for sale.

Beseler 45V-XL with Universal 45 Head, Color Controller (Can be used for B&W Graded or V/C Papers), Power Supply, Foot Switch and 4 Negative Carriers. No lens or lensboard included. The Negative Carriers are well used, however everything else is in excellent condition.

Also included are the original manuals for the 45V-XL & the Universal 45 Head / Controller.

Local pick up only (Des Moines IA) sorry no shipping. Asking $600 OBO.

A donation will be made to APUG after the sale.

Hi Jim,

Is the alignment process on this model much of a bear like other Beselers (specifically the 45M)? I've had a heck of a time getting my 45M true.

Also, do you happen to know the Beseler lens boards are universal across models?

Thanks!
Chris

Hey Chris,

To be honest I have never aligned any of my enlargers so I'm not sure how difficult it is. I have always used the adjustable lens boards and aligned the lens with the baseboard / easel. Here's a copy of the manual pages with the alignment process.

The lens boards and negative carriers are universal across the 45 models, so yours will work. Let me know if you have anymore questions or would like additional photos.

Thanks,
Jim

Unlike the Beseler MXT, the 45V-XL simply rides on what amounts to an I-beam 5' long! So there is little that one needs to align, whereas the smaller 45M U-shaped design and is smaller and is more 'alignable' than the V-XL in a very poorly documented and finicky way!
The 'M' stands for 'masochist', since you have to be one in order to successfully adjust the 45M!
