I bought Four of the lamps listed below.
I bought the Color Head from Ebay. They did a HORRIBLE job packing it, and it came with a broken bulb that had fallen out of its housing.
I have not yet accepted this head. I can still return it.
Anyway.....so i installed two of these new bulbs and they both blew in about 10 seconds.
Is this from anything i am doing wrong, Or is there real problem with this head.....something in the power supply for the lamp maybe.?
Is there anything i can check.?
Appreciate any help.
Thank You

There were 2 different Dichro heads for the 23C. According to this chart, they take a different bulb, though both bulbs are 82v. Which head do you have?

Though I suspect the problem is the power supply.

23C.?
You've lost me.
I have the 45S.......
Did i get the wrong lamp for that.?
Thanks

EVW is the correct bulb, when installing never touch the bulb with your bare fingers. Any finger prints or oils, can, in theory cause the lamp envelope to shatter. It's never happened to me. The EVW comes mounted in a reflector, no need to touch the actual bulb.

Yeah, thanks for he suggestion, but...no problem there. It kind of slides right down into the fixture.
This head blew two of those Brand New EVW bulbs.
Just to be sure, i pulled the bulb from my Working 45s, and installed That into this Ebay head, and it blew also.
Sssoooooo.....i do not really know if this head had this problem already, or if it was damaged during shipping.
The Ebay sellers were Very Fair and Honest, they refunded my money and said to keep the head for parts.
I know Many Of These haeds are now having problems with that Bulb/Timer circuit.
I hope to, someday. delve deeper into these things and see if i cannot build a better way to interface the head to a timer.
That circuit seems Way More complex than it needs to be. But i am NOT an electronics Designer/Tech.
Not sure if i want to bother with another one of these or not. My second 45 has the condenser head.....perhaps i should just be happy with that.?

if it were yours, measure the voltage on the bulb socket?

if you can return it... send it back!
