Does anybody know anything about these? I bought this used years ago anf can't find any info on the net.

Never heard of that one. Beseler used additional letters after the 45 that indicated additional features.

  • Two-digit number — the max size of the negative it can accept (e.g. 23 is 2cm x 3cm, 66 is 6cm x 6cm, 45 is 4x5 inches, etc.)
  • M — electric motor to raise and lower the lamphouse
  • C — Beseler colorhead (filter drawer type)
  • R — Resistrol unit (variable voltage regulator)
  • X — Rear support truss (extra reinforcement)
  • AF — Automatic focus
  • B — Beslite (flourescent cold-light head)
  • AG — Beseler-Agra colorhead (continuously variable filter type)

Photos might help -- as well as the color or the paint.

That video makes it look like a 45 on a 23 column.

I had one of theses over 30 years ago and have never again heard of one till this post. I remember it as being a 23 on steroids.

It looks like a 4X5 head mounted to a 23C frame.

Yeah, well I know it was the mutant offspring of a 23C and a 45. What I want to know is production dates and pricing. Near as I can figure, it was a "value" priced 4X5.
