Hi all! I recently acquired one of these but I started to fiddle with it and realized it's a strobe head. Wouldn't this make it harder to print (like dodging)? would someone explain the pros and cons of this enlarger compared to a normal color head enlarger please?

Short exposure times, accurate repeatable color. Enjoy it, always wanted one but have no idea what I would do with it.

I don’t associate dodge and burn with color, so it’s probably not a big concern.

ah, I ahven't done much color pritning. But when I did do it I do think I didn't do any dodging or burning. I wonder why that is

I dodge & burn in color, of course, but that's not why I don't have the Beseler/Minolta head/system. I had all the color gear I needed, and got used to the CMY way of thinking. The Beseler/Minolta is RGB based.

Some people probably love it, and I'm sure there are a ton of reviews on the WEB about its wonders.

As Bill pointed out above, Ionized gas will give a constant color. Unlike hot tungsten which has a color that varies with temperature.

These were hot stuff back in the day. In the right hands miraculous. I never had the patience. Works with VC and color.
