What happened to Bergger 200?

Freestyle use to carry it, not anymore.

Adorama doesn't carry it.

B&H lists it but says it is back-ordered. (for about a year now if I remember correctly)

Calumet Photo says it has it but it says it ships in 6 - 13 days? Taking two weeks to ship a roll of 120 kinda suggest they don't have it either and just haven't removed the listing. (In all honesty I haven't tried ordering it from them)

Digital truth doesn't have it.

As I was looking through this apug.org site, reading post, I saw the Bostick & Sullivan advertisement. I clicked on them thinking I have never seen their site. As I was browsing through their film selection, there was Bergger 200iso, in 120 size. Does anyone know whether they really have it? Or do they list it like calumet and B&H do but it is a back-order situation?

I decided to email them and ask.

Best bet is to contact Bostick & Sullivan. They had told me that there would be supply problems for about a year while Bergger moved production. That was in June. Maybe they have an update.

Beau Photo in Vancouver, British Columbia had some when I was in their store in May. Perhaps they still have some.

Try the Santa Fe Camera Center. When I lived in New Mexico, they carried it in 35, 120, and 4x5. That was before Forte (the real manufacturer) went under, so they may not have it. Worth a try though.

Their website doesn't have it, but it has never been complete. They don't list Fuji black and white films either but they carry them. Call them to be sure.

You have to know one thing: Bergger 200 (and bergger films in general) was used to be made in the Forte plant, that went out of business at the begining of 2007. Since this closure, Bergger is selling remaining stocks. But when they will be depleted, there will be no more Bergger films. As far as I know decision to launch new production in another plant has not been taken, and i don't know if the 200 emulsion is planned, or not.

I have replaced it by superpan 200, foma 200 and I have also bought a big stock of fortepan 400...

From memory, Bergger was moving production to Ilford/HARMAN - or was that only for their paper?
Would probably make a lot of sense to email bergger and ask, their contact details are on the site.

I have already ashed for them, and the answers were quite laconical (is that word english?)
They indeed transferred the paper production to Harman / Moberley plant. But production of films has not been restarted. Anywhere.
And a new production would only be interesting if the new products are the same emulsions... with differences because of the difference of location.
But it will be very difficult. Maybe send them e mails, and ask!!!
I often write to them to ask whether the decision has been taken or not, and always the same "no"...

Ahhh... I hadn't given much though to this until now, but the Capitalist in me is making me want to put my remaining stock on ebay and make some money like others have been doing with Polaroid products.

I know Blue Moon Camera in Portland, Oregon (www.bluemooncamera.com) still has a small stock of the 35mm, but they are sold out of the 120 as well.

Bergger had also film production on the Forte plant. But they have had also production on the Filmotec (former OrWo) plant. Their slow speed film was a reincarnation of the NP15 OrWo emulsion (= Rollei Pan 25).
Maybe the expensive R3 emulsion (a T.S.F. product) with clear layer and double non-curling layer is also too expensive to re-continue. One of the reasons Rollei R3 is also not continued anymore.

(Rollei) Super Pan 200 (an Agfa-Gevaert product from Belgium) is a very good alternative for a medium speed NIR film product.
