Benzo - Quinone

Hi All,

Frequently on Ebay there is a seller offering "Benzo - Quinone" photo grade for sale. I have not seen this chemical in any formula and am wondering what it would be used for.

Any ideas?

According to the "Encyclopedia of Photography" it is use to create Hydrroquinone by
reaction with sulphurous acid.

Benzoquinone is an oxidation product of hydroquinone. Not too useful in photography AFAIK.

Aswell as a photo product benzo quinone is used in the manufacture of MDMA (ecstacy)
