If you have been looking at vintage J-9's then you have already discovered that most of them are fairly rough. They are soft and do not resist abuse. Many of then are out of round and have that maddening cam effect when focusing, which can never be chased out of the lens. This is an older example (1959!) and has managed to remain intact. Glass simply sparkles. Focus is even all the way 'round, but please note that the focus action is a bit heavier than we are used to today. Diaphragm is light and quick, with at least 99 blades so the aperture is totally round at all positions (yay!!). At only $100 or more if the spirit moves you, the camera bodies are not included but plenty of good karma is because all proceeds including shipping charges will benefit our local community radio station, WCUW, broadcasting at 91.3 FM in Worcester, MA and also streaming at www.wcuw.org. Buyer pays only actual shipping, which will be not much. Enjoy!!
