Belitzsky reducer

I've come across Kodak R-8 reducer (in Kodak Chemicals and Formulae, p. 33) and its description says “Modified Belitzsky reducer. A single-solution cutting reducer for tank use”.

Does someone knows what is the original formula for Belitzsky reducer? Thanks in advance.

I think:

Belitzki's reducer (subtractive)
Ferric chloride 6.5 g
Sodium oxalate 12.5 g
Sodium sulfite 8 g
WTM 200 ml
Before use add 3 grams of citric acid, shake well, and allow to settle. Decant, add 50 grams of sodium thiosulfate, and dilute 1:11 for use.

I couldn't find a reference for the formula I gave you, but in my search I found a very slightly different formula. It calls for the addition of 3 grams of oxalic acid rather than citric acid. This is probably not a significant difference. The reference for that formula is: Willard D. Morgan, ed., "The Encyclopedia of Photography," Volume 17, New York, Greystone Press, 1964, pg 3169.
