Who: Beaverton Arts Commission presents
What: The 25th Annual Visual Arts Showcase
Where: Beaverton City Library, 12375 SW 5th Ave.
When: February 4-17th, 2007, during Beaverton City Library Hours
Sundays 1 to 5 p.m.
Mondays-Thursdays 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Why: To showcase the artistic talent and creativity of our local artist.
To bring the community more closely together through the
appreciation and promotion of the arts.
How: No admission charge for the exhibition or receptions.
Additional Showcase Activities:
A Gala Opening Night Reception will be held on Saturday, February 3rd, 7-9 p.m.
A Silver Anniversary Reception will be held on Sunday, February 11th, 2-4 p.m. in the conference room to honor all current and former Beaverton Arts Commission board members and financial supporters.
A portfolio review will be offered to local artists on Saturday, February 17th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the conference room. Artists should call the Commission at 503-526-2288 for an appointment.

Artist Portfolio Review Day February 17
The Beaverton Arts Commission will conduct portfolio reviews for artists on Saturday, February 17, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Beaverton City Library, 12375 SW 5th. Advance registration is required. To register, contact the Beaverton Arts Commission at 503-526-2288.
Artists who work in watercolor, drawing, mixed media, photography, pastels, print-making, painting, ceramics and/or sculpture may bring their portfolios to the Library and have their work reviewed by arts professionals and gallery representatives. Artists will be allowed a 25 minute discussion with one reviewer.
The deadline for registration is Wednesday, February 14th, 2007. The cost is $20 for members of the Beaverton Arts Commission and $40 for non-members. To register for an appointment, contact the Beaverton Arts Commission at 503-526-2288.
The following individuals will serve as portfolio reviewers:
Gayle Beppu
Artist; Founding Member of the Beppu Gallery/Village Merchants; Founding Member of the Artisan Co-op; Founding Board Member Art in the Pearl Festival; Advisory Board member and past Director of the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology.
Barbara Mason
Print-maker represented by the Davidson Galleries; Director, Waterstone Gallery; Founding Board Member Art in the Pearl; Board Member Print Art NW; and, Past Board Member Crows Shadow Institute of Art on the Umatilla Indian Reservation.
Eileen Cotter Howell
Studio artist; former community college instructor; current instructor, k-12 and community programs; former director and current member, Waterstone Gallery; founding board member, Art in the Pearl; advisory board member, Arts in Education (Salem,OR).
Deb Dewit Marchant
Artist; Business Owner. In 1990, with the founding of their company Simple Minds, Deborah and her husband, Robert, joined forces to further establish Deborahs art career and expand her audience to a national level. Slowly the company has grown to include over 170 notecards of Deborahs images, which are distributed nationwide, a selection of posters, and a web site featuring her original pastels, oils and photographs. http://www.dewit-marchant.com/bio.html
