This lens is just over 100 years old. It is 12.75 inch focus and will cover your 11X14 plates easily.

This is the only example of an 8X10 Plastigmat I've seen. Indeed the 1906 catalog at Seth Broder's site only goes to full plate.

The Plastigmat was Bausch & Lombs copy of a Goerz Dagor, but it had 4 glasses like a Protar, so with the extra glass they could call it their own design and bypass paying royalties. You could also buy a Zeiss Protar from Bausch & Lomb but they were quite a bit more because of the royalties situation.

You can see in the images this has about 3/16" balsam seperation around the edges on both sides. That doesn't seem to have much if any effect, and I would leave it alone. This lens is a symmetrical double anastigmat. The Plastigmat was well corrected for single element use, unlike the Dagor. So this has scales for both elements used together, and a single element used alone. The rear group alone is 24" focus.

An interesting antique lens, and fun to use. Somewhere I've got a stunning 8X10 family portrait done with this very lens a few years back. Maybe I can dig that up. Think 13" Dagor for bargain money. $335 + shipping
