i recently acquired a bantam rf and hoped to stick a flash to work with it
BUT i realize the flash post looks different than what i am used to !

it isn't a normal PC post ( femal or male ) but something that took a
"kodak b-c flash pack" .. the sync i have seen before but never bothered to
learn anything about it .. it looks like it has a spring inside
and a little metal rod that pokes out .. the original outside might be missing.
can i just attach a normal flash sync to it and it will work ? i imagine there isn't much
to fry in a camera like this , and i might as well try ... i figure i'd ask some of
the folks who know way more than me first !

thanks
john

I think you mean the bayonet type flash post, I have one on the Epsilon shutter of a British made 101mm Ektar, it was also used on the UK 203mm Ektar in an Epsilon shutter.

There was a bayonet adapter to normal PC socket I have one on a 620 Monitor I bought from the US, so you you just need to figure out a way to connect to it, apart from that the actual internal shutter sync is standard.

thanks for the help ian and matt
it was mike's manual that showed the weird cap that is missing on mine,
silly me, i thought it was something i wouldn't need ...
i am thinking of just leaving the camera on B and manually firing the flash, too much trouble
searching for tid-bits and small parts ...

i appreciate the help !

If you have an old Kodak synch cord, can you splice to a modern one? I don't know, but it is something I would like to do if possible.

There's a guy on the evil auction site who sells many kinds of flash adapters ( from one socket/plug to another) but you need to know exactly what you need b/c they are all expensive. I just ponied up because I got tired of looking. I can give you his name if you like. Oh, and welcome to the wonderful world of 828!

Paramount may have a cord that would fit it. But opening the shutter and popping the flash will work without making an investment.
