The New Jersey location serviced the H series (H1 etc). For some reason the new location does not. They said I should find an indie shop...

So is this a GOOD thing that i never went into debt to buy a hasselblad camera?

lol they should have free complete overhauls every year for what they cost new

Mike at Samy's Camera on Fairfax has been doing my Hasselblad work for almost two decades. He now works only three days a week.

I have never owned a Hasselblad, but people that own these cameras should have a service center available somewhere in the US. Not everyone can, or has the deisire to repair their own camera.

I just received my Hasselblad 500C/M back from repairs and CLA from Hasselblad in Burkank, Ca. Their service was excellent and prompt. I'm very pleased with the experience from the Ca group as I was when they were in New Jersey. They kept me posted via email as to the progress and to tracking the return.

What did that cost you?

Why not just start the title with “News…”?

Hasselblad moved its facilities to be closer to @BrianShaw and me.

Several repairs were made plus CLA. I sent the camera, lens and viewfinder and back and was given a quote that was acceptable. The work including back and forth took about a month. They communicated promptly and kept me posted as to progress and shipping. Tomorrow I will take a roll and develop it. Today there was too much rain when I had the time.
My response to the other posts was to compliment the efficient service I received. They also sent a follow up email to see if all went well.

Remember who the real owners are.

Yes DJI own it.
I think the move to Burbank might be in anticipation for a Medium format Cinema camera that might be on horizon.

A final update. I tested the repaired camera with 5 lenses, a 2x and 2 different film backs. It’s working perfectly and the negatives look good. It was the first repair since I bought it new maybe thirty or so years ago.

I believe they moved to Burbank to be closer to DJI headquarters.

There is only one option for medium format Cine camera the ARRI 65 and that one you can not even buy.
If DJI make a good camera with medium format sensor it might be a big success.

As far as I know, the movie industry (Hollywood) owns no equipment, just facilities. Everything is rented.

Sometimes that is the case. But a lot of gear is owned. When it comes to Sony pictures they provide cameras for their productions. Sometimes DP own cameras and rare vintage lenses or even new lenses. Sound gear always comes with the mixer. Grips own rigging and gaffers light. Stages have a lot of things in their disposable. For lower tier movies a DP owner is a norm. What is the point of only making labor when you can benefit from gear rental.
I know DPs paid for their houses and Boats with gear rental. Older cameras like ARRI Alexa mini still makes a lot of money for people.
