Interesting, I don't believe I've ever visited that site. I usually go to the one ending in .it

The .com is their shop page. If you click on the "go to main site" it will direct you to the .it site

yes, the .it page used to have a "shop" link that pointed to teh .COM page. Dave Seems to have arranged to drop the Shop link, and at the same time moved the contents of the shop page from fall of 2018 to fall of 2019

Yes, and Dave also dropped the link to the FAQ page, which still exists but has not been updated in any way.

If a new Ferrania updates thread is created then many of us would be delighted if Dave had the time to post more of your occasional short updates, even if they tell us nothing about the progress of P30. You know, something like "Last week we moved the differential integration analyser to stand next to the integral differentiation compensator, ready for when we start making 828 film." (Yes, the contents of this sentence are a joke, but the suggestion is well-meant. Many thanks for continuing to talk to us Dave.)

Mr. Bias did say that he was tired of this particular thread! I am hoping that he will start a new one of his own.

Nicola Baldini who I believe is a high ranking official of the company has made the occasional comment on the facebook P30 users page.

Indeed Nicola Baldini is one of the top chemical engineers at Film Ferrania, as far as I remember? He's keeping an eye on the P30 Users facebook page and commenting on people's posts there...there are still people using the alpha films....and either discovering faults or discovering they like it. The company clearly hasn't shut down.

Well, before it does, I found this interesting page the other day while doing a Google search to locate their home page...

https://www.filmferrania.com/

"Returning Fall of 2019"... well, I hope so!

This link is giving a "red warning" of not secure, and "Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.filmferrania.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards)".
(Not seen this warning on any other site, and my anti-virus, etc., all seem in order.)

The site is just http:// and not https:// which means it does not have an SSL cert which Google prefers and will flag as above if no SSL cert is present or has expired.
SSL is used to secure credit card transactions, logins, data transfers and basically making a website secure and trustworthy.

Not having an SSL cert is a bit like having a website that is not mobile-friendly (60% of my online customers purchase on mobile)

I know from my own site, that I get advanced notification of SSL cert renewal so I can pay the fee and be secure for the next year.

.
And I could see not bothering to get a fresh certificate for a site that is currently "on Hold" - better to order one the week you intend to "go Live.

network tools indicate it is currently at Top host, on a standard Linux/Apache Server.

Dave Bias did drop a hint that when they do come back that they may use Shopify.

Shopify is good and very popular. The Film photography project store use it.

Right now the issue is the CERT is generated for the hostname "www.giuseppequinto.com". All browsers will issue a warning is the CERT DNS name doesn't match the page you're visiting. The CERT was issues from LetsEncrypt and expires on 11/21/2019. If I had to guess, giuseppequinto.com is the page designer (they show as a graphic design site) and is hosting the site on their server. A misconfiguration is allowing the https server (port 443) to use the same cert on both (or all) sites.

the simplest was to fix it is to replace the filmferrania.com DNS server with cloudflare. Their basic plan is free, provides great service, and provides a free certificate.

I noticed the other day that it has been 5 Years that the new factory has been on the go. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/filmferrania/100-more-years-of-analog-film/posts/1014919

Both the Official https://www.photrio.com/forum/members/film-ferrania.70984/ spokesperson and the CEO have assured us that "great things are happening" on social media. Ilford is apparently planing a new product announcement on the 24 of October.

I don't want to stir any cookware, but once again am wondering if anyone has any word about what is happening in the north of Italy?

What the hell happened to banana plantations in Italy in the latter half of the 80s?
Fantastic news from Ilford and Ferrania!
