Back in June 2018, the Ferrania Folks hoped to be in continuous production by Fall

My uncle who fought the Italians, in North Africa used to say " they were lovers, not fighters".

There was another one in german about BMW:

BMW = "Besser Mercedes Wählen"

(It's better to choose mercedes)

Also, for FIAT: "For Italians, Adequate Technology"

In french we say Ferraille Italienne Assemblée Temporairement (Italian scrap metal temporarily assembled)

French is so great, it sounds so smooth. I'm not really a french speaker, but I can't pronounce it kinda close to "the real thing". It feels like the words slide from the mouth smoothly.

Too bad I need to learn German and Italian first. French is right next on the list.

French is just Italian with the word endings unpronounced

I have italian “roots” and I can say it’s a whole different language. One thing I really like about Italian is that it sounds like music. Both languages have their own charm.

It's a MIRACLE! https://usa.filmferrania.com/ has changed the teXT!!!!

latest news item on the main site is still dated Jul 7, 2020

And just to add to this.
I had been in contact with one of their team last month.
All I will say is that they are still active and things are looking better

Well @Nzoomed this is good news! I'm happy to know they are are ok and making progress!

Yes, things have been quiet, but they are not dead!
I think we will see some more film available soon. Likely they will post another update soon by the looks.

Meanwhile ive been shooting more ferrania solaris, I know its expired, but dont understand why i get some photos with vibrant colours, yet will get washed out colour on other photos, all on the same roll.
Am noticing this on every roll ive shot.
See examples below, all from the same roll shot with an olympus XA3

It could be the scanning of the negs.
Do you have a sample of the negs for both of those photos?
Something like this:

I have a lot of 46mm film that's long-since expired but allows me to shoot color in my 127 cameras. I've noticed that there seems to be a color shift dependent on exposure. I sometimes get frames with a green shift, on an otherwise consistent roll, that are underexposed. Is there a possible connection between exposure and color shifts?

This is plausible. Even with fresh film it is known that with Kodak Gold and Ektar (for example) if you over expose they tend to accentuate the reds.

expired colour film is always a bit of a crap shoot. I've found that expired Ferrania Solaris doesn't hold up as well as expired Kodacolor....but probably holds up better than expired Fuji Superia. However, I would expect different results from one film to another after 15-20 years.

Good to know that the guys at Film Ferrania are still working away.

They should at least publish that!!

If the negs was scanned by a lab and the software is not setup correctly, then yes, you can get colour shift with exposure variations.

If you are scanning these negatives yourself and use Silverfast Ai, try the medicine dropper tool. Place the neutral grey symbol on the asphalt street. The adjustment may fix most of the colors on that frame.

Even back in teh day when machine made colour prints were the norm, changes from one frame to another were common. The industry referred to it as "subject Failure"

both the printer and the scanner will by default attempt to get the entire frame to match 18% grey. in the old days someone wearing say a red sweater might result in a beige wall behind them looking Green.

just like in B&W - a contact sheet is a way to find out the actual relationship between frames.
