Hi All!

Bill got me a great 250mm lens for my Hasselblad for Christmas. :D (Yes... I AM keeping him...)

Here's my question... it has no lens cover for the back. I've looked on KEH, and I could get one there, but it would cost me almost as much for shipping as for the lens back.

Is there anything I could use for a lens back until I can get one somewhere? Right now I have it in the plastic sleeves it came in. Also... what is a reasonable price for this? I've never had the 80mm lens off until now, so I never needed to have a back lens cover.

Thanks for the info!

When use the back cover for the 80mm on the 250mm and just switch it back-n-forth when changing lens. This would be an alternative until you can find a seperate back cap for the 250mm.
I do this with my 35mm equipment.

Can't help with a sub right now Jeanette, but will be heading to a camera show in a couple of weeks and would be happy to look for one then. Could include it in the prints from the print exchange when they are ready to go. Since I know nothing about Hassey lens can you give me an idea what to look for (i.e. - size)...

I have 2 lenses but one back cover. I keep one lens on the body and switch the rear cover when I switch the lens.

Paying for shipping is a real pain (especially for someone as thrifty as I am)... but it's a lot cheaper than an airline ticket to NYC! If you REALLY want it, just do it. After the bill is paid you'll hardly remember the shipping cost.

Or... buy more stuff and then you'll be able to better justify the cost of shipping ;-)

Oooooops... I meant to say "Atlanta" rather than 'NYC'.

I must have been thinking of the time I spent $6 at B&H and paid $8 shipping. (Yes, I REALLY needed those lens caps.)

Hi Jeanette
I have been using hard leader lens case (to store my 250) that I bought for $5 on eBay for two years. This year I bought second body so I don't have to switch lenses.
Just an idea. Greg

Thanks for the great ideas! :D

My 80mm lens came on the camera (no back cap with it), or I'd use that like I do with my Canon.

Not exactly sure of the specs, Mike... I know it's a C T* lens, and it fits on my 500 C/M camera.

That hard lens case sounds interesting. Is there anything preventing lint or such to creep into the lens?? God knows I have enough problems with my photography without adding to them! hahaha

I am going to keep looking! Thanks again!

I recently puchase one from eBay - AmericanEagle_Camera - I recommend looking at their stuff. I just checked and they have one listed at 8.95 and 1.50 shipping ...
Note that I have no affiliation with this seller.
