I recently purchased a B22 Omega Enlarger. I need to find 6x4.5 negative carriers. anyone have a source of used, clean accessories. I am trying to stay within a limited budget.

i would have to double check at the lab, but are you sure this enlarger will support that format?

you might try Harry at the Omega site, i am sorry, off the top of my head i don't remember his web url, but he is the current expert with all things omega

I'm pretty sure the B-22 will support 6x6 and smaller, not sure about 6x4.5 neg carriers, unless they are the same as B-66 and C-700.

Rick

new info: C-700 6x4.5 carrier # 423-126 may fit your machine

The carriers for C700 will fit the B-22; however the 6x4.5 can be a bit hard to find.
Try www.eplevine.com
I think that is where I ended up finding one.

Hmm. My B-22 does not look like it would support that format.

I will have to investigate further, but just out of hand, I doubt it.

Are there different versions of the B-22 regarding negative size?

OK, I just measured, and without an adapter and with the negative tray/condenser mesh, I don't see how anything in the 6" range is possible.

My condenser head is about 3.75" in diameter.

Am I missing something? (I am a newbie)

6 x 4.5 is in centimeters...

Duncan

Ah, yes the "american idiot" in me comes out....

Thanks for that.

Why the hell can't everybody (meaning the US) just go metric and be done with it?

Beats me. We learned all the metric stuff in school (oh so many decades ago...) in preparation for the Big Switchover, but it never happened. Sure would make life simpler!

What kills me (thread drift coming) is that we use both F degrees and C degrees around my brewery is a willy nilly nature. The scientist in me cringes. Log sheets will have spots for temps and on the same damn sheet we will have different scales.

Anyhoo, I just completed my darkroom table and will be using my B-22 for the first time tonight!
