I have read in a few places about using C41 fix to fix B&W films and papers.

I am happy with using TF-3 Alkaline Fix for my films but am interested in trying Kodak Flexicolor C41 Fix for my B&W papers. I can buy a 25-Litre pack of fixer/replenisher for little money but just want to know if this is the correct stuff or do I have to look for the Fixer on its own?

TIA Eddie

From the MSDS of Kodak Flexicolor Fixer:

Weight % Components (CAS-No.)
50 - 55 Ammonium thiosulphate (7783-18-8)
40 - 45 Water (7732-18-5)
1 - 5 Sodium bisulphite (7631-90-5)
1 - 5 Sodium sulphite (7757-83-7)
0.1 - 1 Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid tetrasodium salt (64-02-8)

So it's fine. Not alkaline, but not far on the acid side of neutral (pH: 6.1).

It's priced well, and doesn't smell as much as the more acidic "black and white" fixers.

Thanks John, I was aware of some of that, I am more concerned if the bottle caller 'fixer/replenisher' is the right stuff?

Yes it is. I use it on b&w films at full C-41 working strength and on b&w papers diluted 1:1.
