you sure about that? every lab ive been to doesnt even develop bw film.

I noticed you're in Canada! While yes, there are less and less labs that do B&W. However don't despair there are a few choices in Canada that still do B&W.

Toronto Image Works in Toronto, ON (duh) does mail in service for B&W and C41, 35mm, Medium, and Sheet Films: http://www.torontoimageworks.com/film-processing/
Borealis in Montreal: http://www2.borealislab.qc.ca/borealis/film-development

When I'm walking out and about I take photos. If I didn't take the photos I'd still be walking out and about. When I'm developing film it means I am home and can't do anything else. Thing is when I am home I could be doing a lot of other things that are far more interesting, ie playing with my son. So having time for shooting film has nothing to do with having time to develop! Do you have small kids in the house?

I have small kids, or at least I did. They are growing fast but in the past I developed my film WITH the kids. They LOVED working the timer as well as watching me chug away with the agitation schemes. Great fun, spending time with the kids and developing film.

Thanks for all the advice on films and developing my own film. I'll try to post an image that I took about 50 years ago with probably Plus X film on my cheap 35 mm camera that I bought.

Everyone except the little girl in the center and my brother and I on the ends are deceased. It's good to have pictures from the past.
