Looks like Adorama still has stock. Japan Exposures (formerly Megaperls) has it, but the exchange rate is highly unfavorable (glad I got some cans of Acros before the yen carry trade unwound!).

I haven't used much of it myself, but I had some nice results using it rated at 800. It's not the first time we've had confused/conflicting info about fuji products, probably won't be the last.

It is sad. I never used much of it, but one less option, especially in faster films, is always bad.

Well, looking at the Fujifilm Japan site, only the 24-roll has been discontinued, but the 36-roll still appears there as available (which is also how I read the translated message in the link above).

Here's a translation from their film availability chart:

Neo Pan 1600 Super PRESTO

135 (* 1) Picture of 24 1 Open Price 024 428 58 × 36 × 36mm

135 Picture 36 1 Open Price 024 435 58 × 36 × 36mm

* 1: Upon completion of the inventory will be discontinued.

Of course, as mentioned earlier, this may be just for the Japanese market.

Hontou straight from the uma no ha no less! Sad, sad, guess I'll pretty much be standardizing on Ilford then, apug sponsor at least!

Okay, so "standardize" on only a single film manufacturer thereby helping the rest go away? Stupid.

Not my doing, what is happening to me here, seems to be about the only thing I can get is Ilford these days for what I want to do. Not my fault they're dropping product lines and closing down distribution areas. Stupid marketing in my opinion.

Thinking about a replacement for Neo1600. Perhaps it depends upon what you shoot it for - if it's for grain, then I think Tri-X has lots of potential, in fact Tri-X @400 and Neo1600@1600 have a quite similar gritty look to my eye. If it's speed, then Delta 3200 is worth a stab but I think it'll need some developing experiments to get it looking anything like Neo1600. I'm going to try some over-expose / over-develop experiments on Delta3200 with a R25 filter.

...I wanted some more Fujifilm Acros in 120.... I was pleasantly surprised to see Adorama offering the film for $0.85 .....Ordered some last night and it's on its way to me today. If I'm happy with Adorama's service, I might switch to them for the majority of my film purchases.

Delighted to read that we were able to help - thank you for your business

If you need any after-sales support, now or in the future, you are most welcome to contact me directly: HelenO@adorama.com

According to Fuji Japan in 135-36 Neopan Presto 1600 is gone once current stocks are used up.

Here is the email if you can read Japanese.

No reply yet to my second email to Fuji USA asking why.

On a lark I sent Fuji Japan a message via their contact page asking them to continue making it, and to continue making film in general. I wonder if I'll get even a form letter back, will post if they do.

We have now two threads on the same topic running in parallel for some time.
With the original difference that the first one was hinting at the European market situation and this one to the US situation.
That difference seems to have vanished (for the threads as well as the both markets).

Replying to my own post it seems my Japanese isn't too rusty after all, they replied, though I suspect it is a form letter. It mostly just says thanks for using their products, unfortunately they don't sell enough B&W film to keep on producing Neopan 1600 in small batches so they've had to discontinue it, they're very sorry for the inconvenience, 36-rolls are still available until stock run sout, they hope I understand and hope that I will continue to use Fujifilm products.

The sent me links to a survey and a further comment website as well but they are personalized for me so I won't reproduce them here.

In case someone else is interested, the original reply was:

I just looked on the fuji UK webshop: still 36-135 available.

Maybe the highspeed sell out will change their mind.

Wasn't NPZ 800 saved by the bell through lots of complaints?

Fuji loves to do this "stay of execution" thing. The only film that I know of that was discontinued and then brought back for good was Velvia. 800Z and all Fuji single-8 films were given a reprieve, only to be formally discontinued a little later.

So they are pushing us towards 1.2 , 1.4 and 1.8 lenses... in order to get the image on film without the strobes switched on.

Sad, it feels as if the walls are coming closer and closer.

Superia 800 and 1600 left then for shooting low light in color?
