That's crazy, I wonder what's the deal? A couple weeks back I found 3 packages of Bromophen at the online store of kmcamera.com, they have free shipping, same terms as B&H, they do have Dektol 1 gallon 11 USD. Not anything like B&H but they sell film etc. I think they do a lot of rental business. They are in Brooklyn NYC,Take a look at the paper developers. No shipping of Dektol or Bromophen or Liquidol or ....
Dektol, D76, Kodak Rapid Fixer, all are in-store pickup only. Aristadol, Arista 76, and Arista Rapid Fixer can all be shipped. Doesn't make sense.
So just out of curiosity. In nearly 3 months are we any nearer to an explanation of what chemicals B&H will ship and the reason why? Frankly the thread reads as if a report on the behaviour of a mentally ill person whose demeanour tomorrow no one and certainly not the person can predict until he exhibits it once out of bedTheir shipping policy hasn't made sense in 10 years, which is why I stopped shopping chemicals at B&H years ago.

I am tempted to say: "And we think that KA and Xtol is an exasperating problem"

The explanation was clear three months ago. B&H will ship any chemicals it doesn't identify as "store pickup only." The answer to "why" is simple. Because that is its business decision, motivated by whatever factor(s) it considered when making the choice....In nearly 3 months are we any nearer to an explanation of what chemicals B&H will ship and the reason why?...
I agree. If B&H doesn't have an item to ship the look shop with another vendor. They will appreciate the business.Whining (whinging for those speaking British English) about this in public threads , rather than politely making private inquiry, can only serve to piss off the merchant, which undoubtedly realizes the same low margins on photo chemicals that it does on other silver halide supplies. That could lead to the end of photo chemical offerings entirely at B&H.
Thanks You have my sympathy. I just find it puzzling to live in a world where a company appears to change it behaviour several times without any explanation and not be puzzled about it.We aren't any closer to an explanation of what happened 10 years ago (or however many its been) when they suddenly decided to stop shipping stuff they had always shipped before.
Because they're customers, not shareholders. What caused it is none of the customers' business....If it is a business reason then why not say what it is that has caused a change when that change is clearly unwelcome to its customers?...
Not thinking of opening a customer facing kind of business are you, Sal?Because they're customers, not shareholders. What caused it is none of the customers' business.
Many moons ago, starting during high school and continuing through my college years, I worked (part time when school was in session, full time during summers and winter breaks) in several retail establishments, including a camera store. Upon being awarded an engineering degree, I moved on to professional positions. Not thinking of opening a customer facing kind of business are you, Sal?...
There's a substantial difference between "mustn't" and "wisdom dictates not doing so negatively/repeatedly in public." Think about it.We mustn't question our corporate overlords
Here's someone who took the polite, private route and got an answer:...Whining (whinging for those speaking British English) about this in public threads , rather than politely making private inquiry, can only serve to piss off the merchant, which undoubtedly realizes the same low margins on photo chemicals that it does on other silver halide supplies...
