B-22 vs. B-22XL column

I have a B-22XL enlarger that I need to convert into a B-22 (shorter column). Could one of my fellow APUGgers measure their B-22 column and let me know?

Ther reason for this odd request is that I was gifted a second B-22XL recently, and I need to fit it into a rather restricted space in the corner of my darkroom.

Mine measures 34 inches.

My B22XL column seems to measure out at about three feet, 22 inches. Hard to get it exact because it's stuck back in a corner and is hard to get to.

Could you put it on a lower counter, or the floor?

Either offer it for trade or cut the top off. The top cap is screwed on so you can still have a nicely finished top.
