During a work at the museum I fell upon one very interesting object - Avraham Soskin's Rolleiflex Original Standard. A camera manufactured between 1932 and 1935. I asked to take it on a photo-ride, and surprisingly was granted permission. Join me in one of the greatest adventures of Photo-Archeology.

I enjoyed your post! It's interesting the atmosphere the flare-y old lens produces. Well done!

Great thread, and even better "experiment".

I think you are going to have to replace your APUG profile description - clearly you are not just a 35mm shooter.

This is what it takes to get you to shoot medium format? Oy, vay! I'd hate to see what it would take to get you motivated to shoot large format!

Good job giving the camera some use again! Maybe they'll let you take it out again soon.

Sometimes a camera is just a tool but sometimes the history of the camera helps to inspire.

Thanks for the kind support and comments. I really appreciate it.

That was very cool, props for making the video! It's amazing how much history is in those old Rolleis, makes me wonder what my '52 'cord has seen in its lifetime.

Many thanks for this. I've sent the reference to my brother-in-law, who's a professional photographer and lives in Petach Tikvah. I think he'll love it.

Cheers,

Les

The film was not threaded under the first roller when loaded. Was this different from the newer Rolleiflexes? My 3.5 F is loaded under the first roller.

Great video and it shows why I think any Rolleiflex is preferable to any other camera. A camera from the '30s that easily has the it factor most cameras can not touch.

I really don't know David... This is my first Rolleiflex.
