Does anyone know what focusing screens are or were available for Nikon F90 series?

I think there was the standard screen with the AF brackets, a grid screen and a plain matte screen. My favorite is the 'E' (grid) screen. I don't remember the plain matte screen being different apart from the AF brackets.

The type E would be fine if I could find one that fit, and had the right amount of luminance for accurate metering.

But I have never seen one for sale specific to this model.

It seems that I have confused the type E (which I like) with the type K, which I want for manual focusing.

Does anyone know if the screen from other models, such as the FE2 or the FM3a are compatible?

As far as I know its just the installed glass and E type specifically for the n90 (I stand to be corrected and hope to be as I I love my 90x )

You could use the electronic rangefinder though for focus confirmation with manual lenses instead though. Works really well.

I have also used focusing screens from the N8000/N8000S in the N90S.

I have been using this feature since I began using my old F801s. But it begins to show a lock just outside of achieving critical focus.

Speaking of which, was there any discrepancies in the metering? Matrix, center-weighted, spot?

I am thinking that the J will cause underexposure in spot mode.
